Ranthambore

Ranthambore is a vast wildlife sanctuary situated in Sawai Modhopur, a town in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The national park is primarily known for its tigers, which can be easily spotted during the daytime. A huge fort after which the park has been named, towers over the park atop a hill known as the Ranthambore Fort, recognized by UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The park is a great excursion for wildlife enthusiasts and is a photographer’s delight. Apart from tigers, you can spot other wild animals including wild boars, sambar, langurs, chitals, a wide variety of plants and birds with an opportunity to soak in the nature’s bounty. The National park is open from October to May across the year. You can explore the sanctuary on Jeep Safaris, with a ride lasting for about 3-4 hours. The sanctuary offers two rides in a day and you can accordingly choose the one as per your convenience. Some of the other places of interest include Trinetra Ganesha Temple, Surwal Lake, Kachida Valley and Jogi Mahal.  You can find some very comfortable stay accommodations during your stay in Ranthambore.
