Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park happens to be one of the oldest national parks in India in the Pauri Garhwal, Almora and Nainital regions of the state of Uttarakhand. The national park was setup in 1936 and has been named after Jim Corbett who played an instrumental role in setting up the park, which was for the conservation of the Royal Bengal tigers.

The park houses the Royal Bengal tiger, leopards, elephant, reptiles, four to five species of deer and much more, giving an exhilarating experience amongst the wilderness. There are different options available to take the safaris including Jeep Safaris and Elephant  safaris. Also it is one of the very few national parks in India that allows overnight stay within the territory of the park into the wilderness.  Jim Corbett park is also a haven for bird lovers as it provides around 650 species of migratory birds within the park.  Apart from witnessing the wilderness and the flora and fauna, your holiday to the Jim Corbett National Park will allow you to escape the busy life and have a wonderful experience witnessing the nature.

The park remains open from the mid of November to the mid of June months. However, there is a Jhirna zone in the park that remains open for whole year long. In the winter season from October to February, the park will allow you to see some endangered species of birds and beautiful fauna, also very high possibility of spotting the Royal Bengal Tiger. The monsoon season is not that appealing for visitors to come over Jim Corbett National Park, specially also with the chances of soil erosion and landslides. The best time to visit the Corbett National park is from March to June when visitors get to see most of the animals inhabiting in the park.
